THREE CHEERS FOR OLD NAVY...
hip hip hooray!
hip hip hooray!
hip hip HOORAY!
Gotta love Old Navy.
In the middle of a Wednesday afternoon.
Store practically to yourself.
Clerks just dying to help you.
And all of them in "mark-down-mode" for the weekend.
Gotta love it.
You just do.
Especially when said clerks are standing around a rack of Old Navy fleece. And oh, just the thought of sweatshirts makes you feel cooler...and hopeful that the weather really will cool off SOON.
But, when they finish pricing the navy blue hoodies, and they move down the rack to the LIME GREEN section...my heart skipped a beat.
But I literally came out of my skin when she turned one lime green hoodie around to put a sale sticker on it. Not because of what she did - but because of what was written across the front of the sweatshirt.
I grabbed it out of her hand faster than she could react to my squeals and gasps.
You see - Morris is my maiden name. How fun is that?! Lime green, on clearance, in my size AND sportin' my maiden name! It was fate!
But when I came home to show off my purchase (to my rather unenthusiastic, "our-last-name-is-Keuter" family) I discovered that Morris Park in the Bronx is a real place.
So, for a run-of-the-mill Wednesday, I learned two things...
1. you can knock the wind out of an Old Navy employee, with just your voice, and
2. there is a neighborhood in the Bronx bearing my maiden name (and Regis Philbin grew up there)
OH WAIT! I learned a third thing...
3. there is going to be a "$10 off a $50 Old Navy purchase" in the paper this weekend
I was told that AFTER I paid for my purchase!
Might just have to go pick up some Christmas present sweatshirts this weekend.
until then - - -

Three cheers indeed! I had to go out and bite your style. To have Morris on a sweatshirt is great! It made me think of the speech dad gave at Andy's wedding about the very special and selective club of "Morris Women". It also reminds me of that Christmas when Grammy Peggy got everyone sweatshirts with our names on the back. How cool was that? VERY.
TTFN-
