YESTERDAY IT WAS THE GIRL & BASKETBALL...
today it is the old boy and lumps.
We've had our old boy for just over 9 years. Brought him home the day he turned 10 weeks old. He's spent more nights in this house than any of the human occupants have.
We've called him lots of things, goofy nick names and names of endearment. But now we've got a new name for him. A couple of them in fact...LUMPY. (Like one of Walt Disney's forgotten dwarfs.) Also QUAS - as in Quasimodo...you know, the hunchback of Notre Dame.
The new nicknames are in reference to this...
the huge hump that is taking over his left shoulder.
it's big - and getting bigger.
It doesn't seem to bother him. He'll let us touch it and mash on it, he'll even lay on his left side. But it's growing fast, and he's starting to slow down.
He doesn't eat quite as much lately, he is perfectly content laying in one spot all day long, and he whines when he wants to get up from the floor. The tile is giving him grief lately, he can't sit or stand on it for very long...like he's not strong enough to hold himself there.
So there is our Old Lumpy. We're giving him lots of love (and lots of cookies). He's not in pain, of that we're almost sure. But we're making extra sure he's happy.
We love ya Quas - of that you can be positive!
until then - - -
